AE (E1 on some units) reports a water leak: water in the cabinet base trips the flood switch, or a low tub level speeds the pump.

A wet floor beside a built-in dishwasher is a reason to stop the machine and look closely, not to mop and carry on.

Model 630.13023 is a Kenmore Elite dishwasher, sold from January 2009 until May 2014 and no longer sold new. Years of door swings and thermal cycles leave their mark on seals and hose joints, so leaks are one of the first things we examine on machines of this age.
Water can escape at the door gasket, the sump, the inlet fitting, the drain hose or the circulation pump housing. It then runs under the unit and appears at the toe kick, sometimes far from the true source. A flashlight and a dry towel pushed under the front edge show the first wet spot.
Some Kenmore dishwashers carry a float or sensor in the base that stops the machine when water collects there. Related meanings include F8E4 for water detected in the base and F6E4 for an open float switch. When that protection trips, the cause still has to be repaired; clearing the display is not enough.
Close the water supply valve, switch the dishwasher off at its breaker if water is near the electrical feed, and wipe the floor. Use only dishwasher detergent. Please leave the lower panel on.
The guide on a leaking Kenmore dishwasher walks through more causes. Our Kenmore dishwasher repair page explains booking, and the Kenmore dishwashers overview lists the wider range. A close relative is 630.13993.
After the leak path is traced, we explain which part is responsible and whether the cabinet or floor has been affected. The written estimate comes before any repair, and you approve the work. If the surrounding cabinet has swollen, we point it out so you can deal with it separately.
Once the source is fixed, run one short cycle while you stay in the kitchen and watch the toe kick. Keep the supply valve accessible and write down the date of the repair so any recurrence can be traced to a specific connection rather than to the whole machine.
The water may travel along a hose or under the tub before reaching the floor. A technician follows it back.
