Self-cleaning 790 and 2014: what a technician examines
The door never unlocked within the permitted window. Work centers on the lock motor:
- the wires from the electronic oven control board to the motor’s microswitch;
- any sticking in the latch cam, or in the rod and cam of the lock motor;
- an open coil in the motor, remedied with a new lock motor assembly;
- a motor that keeps turning while the microswitch stays open, remedied with a new oven door latch motor assembly;
- and finally the electronic oven control board, if the rest has not solved it.
Glass touch and slide-in ranges: reset, then wiring
Begin by cutting power for half a minute. After restoring it, ask the oven to lock through its lockout feature or a clean cycle, and press cancel if the door stayed latched. If the motor does not move, power goes off again and the harness from the lock assembly to the oven control board is examined; loose wires are pushed home and a damaged harness is swapped. Good wiring shifts attention to the lock assembly, then to the relay control board.
On the glass touch range specifically, the order is unplug, harness, lock assembly, then the electronic oven control board.
