Error codeF050
ApplianceRange
F050 describes a lost signal from the door. On a freestanding Kenmore whose model number begins 790, what the oven relay board fails to read is the state of the door lock switches. On the Elite electric slide-ins (790.5256, 790.4131 and 790.4255) the relay control board is unable to see two things: the oven door switch and the oven door lock switch.
Steps, in the order the manual gives them
Take power away from the range.
Inspect the harness plugs running from the door lock switches to the relay control board. Elite owners have two harnesses to look at: the door lock and the door switch. A loose wire gets reconnected, and a damaged harness gets replaced.
A technician tests each switch using a multimeter. A dead door lock switch means the door lock assembly is swapped out; on the Elite, a dead door switch is replaced too.
Wiring and switches that all test good leave the relay control board as the part to change.
f045 is a cooling fan speed fault on the Elite models.
Kenmore range repair in San Francisco
If F050 returns on a Kenmore range in San Francisco, call (415) 825-6393 and tell us whether power was restored and what happened. Keep the model number close. The Kenmore range repair page lists the range work we do around the Bay Area.
Model compatibility: Kenmore reuses codes across series and model years, so F050 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
