Error code F11
Appliance Range

F11 is worded four ways across Kenmore ranges, and each wording has its own repair.

Elite 721-prefix electric: two boards out of contact

Here the oven control board and the cooktop control board have stopped exchanging data.

  1. Unplug the range.
  2. Examine the harness joining the two boards; plug in loose wires and mend broken ones.
  3. Reset the control with the keys: Lower Stop, then hold Lower Bake together with Lower Broil for 3 seconds, Lower Stop again, and hold the pair a second time for 3 seconds.
  4. Code back? A new oven control board goes in, followed by the same key reset.
  5. Code still there? The cooktop control board is the last part named.

790-prefix self-cleaning electric, 2004 and newer, plus 2014 models: shorted keyboard

The keyboard of the oven control is shorted. Disconnect power, wait 30 seconds and restore it. A returning code means the electronic oven control board is replaced; the keypad belongs to that board.

Elite slide-in ranges: stuck key

Models: the 790.4671 electric slide-in and the slide-in gas or dual-fuel group (790.4275, 790.3263, 790.4276, 790.4260, 790.3264 and 790.4261). The control reports a stuck key on the touch panel.

  • Make sure nothing presses on the keypad, then use Stop to clear the display.
  • If it stays, disconnect power and examine the wiring from the touch panel to the oven control board.
  • Replace the panel next; if the fault remains, replace the control board.

Glass touch electric ranges

The listing is a defective glass touch panel.

Codes to compare

  • f14 is the touch panel losing its link to the oven control board.
  • f12 is a microprocessor ID fault on the board.
  • f10 can be an upper door lock failure on 721 ranges.
