What you will notice

The drain pump starts up by itself and keeps running for as long as FE is shown.

Two possible causes

• A water inlet valve that leaks, so water keeps entering.
• A relay on the electronic control board that has stuck, which has the same effect of filling the tub constantly.

Telling them apart

1. Unplug the dishwasher and see whether the tub keeps filling.
2. If it does, close the water supply; the inlet valve is passing water continuously and is replaced.
3. If filling stops once unplugged, the control board is the likely cause, since it keeps powering the valve.
