Error codeF1
ApplianceWall Oven
Two Kenmore wall oven families use F1 for different faults, so look at the model number before anything else: 665 or 790.
665 models
The electronic oven control (EOC) is defective. Power is cut or the oven unplugged, and a technician fits a new EOC.
790 models
Manual-cleaning wall ovens and the Kenmore and Kenmore Elite self-cleaning wall ovens all start 790. Here F1 is either a failed oven temperature sensor or a failed electronic oven control board.
Leave the oven unplugged for 30 seconds, then plug it in again.
Should F1 return, a technician reads resistance across the temperature sensor circuit, expecting roughly 1,080 ohms when the oven is at room temperature.
Depending on that reading, the sensor, the harness or the control board is replaced.
Related codes
F3: the oven temperature sensor failure entry in the 790 list.
F3/E0: the open sensor circuit entry in the 665 list.
When F1 returns after the power reset, a technician working in San Francisco can test the sensor circuit and the control. Call (415) 825-6393 or go to Kenmore wall oven repair, and have the code, the model number and the reset result ready.
Model compatibility: Kenmore reuses codes across series and model years, so F1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
